Why a balm, not a lotion
Made to stay where it's needed.
A lotion is a mix of water and oils. A balm has no water at all, just butters and oils, so it stays on the skin that needs it. Slide to see what happens when it meets your hand.

The ritual
Two minutes, every night.
Warm
Scoop a small amount and warm it between your fingertips until it softens.
Massage
Work it into clean, dry heels, elbows and knees with slow, firm strokes.
Rest
Let it sink in overnight. With steady use over a few weeks, skin feels softer and smoother.
Full ingredient list
Four ingredients. Every one explained.
In label order, heaviest first, with what each one is and why it's in the jar.
- Rice Bran OilOryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil
What it is: A light oil pressed from the outer layer of the rice grain.
Why it's here: The base of the balm. It sinks in easily and carries the butter across the skin.

What it is: A firm butter from the seeds of the kokum fruit, which many Indian families know first from the kitchen.
Why it's here: Solid at room temperature, it softens on contact with warm skin. It softens and conditions dry, rough skin.
Good to know: It isn't cold-pressed. Our supplier uses a process suited to extracting the solid fat from kokum seeds.
- BeeswaxCera Alba
What it is: Natural wax made by honey bees.
Why it's here: Keeps the balm solid in the jar and in place on skin. It's also why the balm isn't vegan.
- Cinnamon Leaf OilCinnamomum Zeylanicum Leaf Oil
What it is: An essential oil from the leaf of the cinnamon tree.
Why it's here: Gives the balm its warm scent, at a low level.
